One of the biggest reasons Bruno Fernandes hit the ground running in England and continues to tear it up week after week is because he is the perfect fit for the position/role he's playing in this system.

Now compare and contrast that to Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek. The two are immensely talented players but in this system they're square pegs in rectangular holes.

It's early days for Van de Beek. He's young. There's plenty of time for him to grow into this system, find his role in it, and adapt his game to that. Maybe the system evolves to more adapt to him.
