A ton of vaccine data has come out today for @pfizer @BioNTech_Group @UniofOxford @AstraZeneca @JennerInstitute with some good articles and Twitter threads on the various data. Will share below in a single thread

The 53 page document if anyone is interested, and a thread with some of the key pages, the incidence curve graph of COVID-19 in the vaccinated group vs the placebo group is particularly striking
The results of the interim-analyses of the AstraZeneca/Oxford phase III vaccine results have been published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal (as it should be). This one is of interest for South Africans as it may make its way to our shores
There are some concerns about this vaccine, the below threads from @nataliexdean and @hildabast talk about these briefly https://twitter.com/nataliexdean/status/1336344736718786561?s=20

I can see why a single dose vaccine with high efficacy is something South Africa seems to be waiting on, a two dose vaccine could be an issue. @JNJNews @JanssenGlobal are developing a single dose vaccine with results expected soon, they are manufacturing some of it here in SA
A thread from @VirusesImmunity explaining why the 2nd dose of the Pfizer vaccine is important (and in general why you should not miss booster shots for any vaccines you may take in future!) https://twitter.com/VirusesImmunity/status/1336323016737755142?s=20
Another fantastic thread from @K_G_Andersen, touching on some unknowns of the @pfizer vaccine such as longevity of the vaccine protection, sterilizing immunity, and viral escape https://twitter.com/K_G_Andersen/status/1336542638388854784?s=20
