Sick of white people who advocate to take away the very limited options we have. My daughter is districted for one of the lowest performing middle schools in the state. I advocated for her year after year at her traditional public school, to no avail. (1/x)
After transitioning her to a charter school in the 5th grade, about 3/4 months later the school requested testing because they too could tell something was wrong. After testing her they determined she had a math learning disability and needed an IEP. (2/x)
Despite the years of advocacy, all of the testing I requested and the fact that I had to get my daughter diagnosed outside of the school system... they still wouldn’t give her an IEP at the traditional public school she atended! (3/x)
Miss me with all of this bullshit! We want our kids to be able to read, we want them to be prepared for college, and we want them to have a damn future! No one wants to sacrifice their children to a system that has never served them! (4/x)
I have a lot to say, because this is personal. Just like white women don’t want tables full of white men making decisions on behalf of their bodies, BIPOC parents don’t want tables full of white peoples making decisions on our behalf! (5/x)
