Some really deep reporting regarding dicamba here. Most of it wasn't all that surprising to me since I live in this world. BUT... https://twitter.com/jhett93/status/1334932643029397504
There's always been kind of a 'nudge and wink' attitude around the idea that sales reps were using potential drift problems to sell the seeds. I didn't think anyone within either company would be crass enough to write it down in actual marketing documents.
But here it is, right there in print. A Monsanto presentation suggesting "'Protection' from your neighbor" as a sales tactic for soybean growers who don't need the trait for weed control. https://beta.documentcloud.org/documents/6816097-Baderfarm-Exhibits-All.html#document/p163/a557541
Just really disgusting, bad movie villain sort of shit.
It is difficult for me to see how, if this is a marketing tactic within the company, there is ANY credibility left for the companies claiming this technology can be used safely on a large scale.
