Some of you may have seen the clip about the similarities of H and Lou's singing voices.
This has reminded me of a thread on convergence of appearance which I posted some time ago - link below.
I have done some more research and I would like to talk about phonetic convergence

I have done some more research and I would like to talk about phonetic convergence
This is my previous thread

Now ... A indicator of attraction involves phonetic convergence, in which people talking to each other eventually start sounding similar without even knowing it.

The similarities involve everything from pitch to speech rate. It can happen over months or years, or sometimes even very short periods of time. A study published in the Journal of Social and Relationships suggests that people try to be more similar to people they’re attracted to
And it seems we like when people sound like us, according to psychologist James Pennebaker. when the language of two people matches—meaning they use similar pronouns, prepositions, articles, and more in similar ways at similar rates—they are much more likely to go on a date
This is called similarity attraction hypothesis i.e. people try to be more similar to those they are attracted to. In an effort to be more similar to someone we are interested in, we may start to talk more similarly and maximise the chances they will also find us attractive
Some of us have commented about H's accent, coming out of lockdown. Mimicry can also happen outside of a love relationship, that is true, but surely people would need to spend time together for that to happen
Another theory is language style matching. The study is by the same psychologist. He says: “Because style matching is automatic, it serves as an unobtrusive window into people’s close relationships with others.”
The style-matching approach proved to be a powerful bellwether of marriages.
Scores were calculated between poetry written by two pairs of spouses, Elizabeth Barrett and Robert Browning and Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes, which mapped major changes in their relationships.

Style words in the spouses’ poems were more similar during happier periods of their relationships and less synchronized toward each relationship’s end
Differences in style matching between the two couples were revealing as well. Even at the high point of their marriage, Hughes and Plath were less in sync than the historically more harmonious Brownings were at their lowest point
I am obviously referring to use of words in H and Lou's songs and the fact that they seem to be in a conversation with one another through their songs.
They are all theories, so please do not take them too seriously, but it is always interesting how science and psychology seem to support that our Larents are in a long term, loving relationship
