[Thread] - Ross Taylor is Massively Underrated (imo)
A mainstay in the NZ team for so many years now, I think it’s about time we learned to appreciate the man a bit more tbh
So this thread will look at his stats and some of his standout performances...

Countries wise, he averages more in NZ (53.44) than anywhere else, which is understandable since that’s his home nation.
New Zealand pitches do tend to suit bowlers quite a bit, so it’s still fairly impressive

290 off 374 balls vs Australia in Perth
Australia scored 559 and NZ required a gargantuan effort to stay in the game - enter Ross Taylor and Kane Williamson...
After having come back from injury, Taylor put in a solid performance w some classy drives to salvage a draw

You can watch highlights of this splendid knock here:
181* off 147 balls vs England
Led the NZ chase after England posted 335 to level the series at 2-2
What was interesting about this innings was Taylor batted the last third of it on one leg
Lovely range of shots as he dominated the English bowling attack

Highlights:
Finally, 131* off 124 balls vs Pakistan
His only WC century to date and it was courtesy of some really poor fielding and some lovely timed shots by Taylor himself
I think this was the first time I heard of Taylor and it wasn’t a happy moment, as a Pakistan fan

So that’s that, well done for making it to the end
Ross Taylor is a quality player, one of New Zealand’s greats. He’s had rough patches, but the class and quality is there for all to see
Wish him all the best for the future (except when he’s playing against Pakistan)
