A new weak rumour - Joe Pigott to #SWFC.
6ft2 27 yo striker who is Vice Captain for AFC Wimbledon in League One. He's a robust forward whose contract is due to expire in summer so minimal cost in theory, but other clubs interested (£200,000 cost quoted in papers). (1/6)

Joe Pigott's strengths are his physical traits (specifically heading & strength) and his finishing ability. He can also take a mean free kick which #SWFC require. Considering he plays for a side who have flirted with relegation for 4 seasons he has a solid goal return. (2/6)
Joe Pigott's AFCW record is 124 games to 41 goals. This season he has 9 goals & 4 assists in 19 appearances (a goal every 175 minutes). Currently has an impressive shot conversion rate of 20.5% in league. Ranked 8th out of 420 Players for goal output in League One. #SWFC (3/6)
My main concern about Pigott is does he have the ability to play for #SWFC having only prospered in the lower divisions? Slightly reminds me of Lee Gregory in terms of play style and career trajectory - albeit LG scored more. I can't see him being a goal machine at S6. (4/6)
Assessment
Current ability: Unsure if Pigott is able to perform in Championship but his style matches Pulis.
Potential: He is unlikely to improve much at his age - has entered his prime years.
Transfer viability: He may not have long term transfer resale value at 27. #SWFC (5/6)

Overall Joe Pigott could be a decent signing for #SWFC but I'm not sure if he's good enough. He's a robust number 9 so would very much fit the requirements of Pulis but has the risk of him stepping up to Championship immediately.
