I expect it will not be long before children with genetic disabilities exist only among the world’s absolute poorest and the most stratospherically wealthy, or among people who seem like religious zealots.
Having such a child will increasingly be a source of social stigma- a sign that you are either very poor or irresponsible- except in the cases of the extravagantly wealthy, who can be afforded certain quirky affectations.
For the wealthy, they’ll be a sign that you are so affluent you needn’t worry about such matters— a kind of exotic symbol of your extravagant wealth.
. @canonlawyered points out it was that way not so long ago- when only the very poor and the extremely wealthy didn’t institutionalize such people.
