Maybe I’m over sensitive but I’m not sure how this is relevant in the news story - I mean, if the background of the local community is relevant, maybe there’s another way to write about it rather than commenting on them looking at an accident. Feels very uncomfortable @guardian
I mean is it news that people passing by who looked at an accident were Jewish (no). Or is it relevant the area the accident happened was Jewish (possibly - if so write that). Is it news that Jewish people were the ones looking? (Who knows what happens in racist brains ).
This is the kind of thing I expect would not be noticed by people who it doesn’t affect but it stood out like a gaping abyss of unconscious bias to me.
