So the first thing that happened was the picture got more likes than any picture Iâve ever posted. Mostly guys, and lots of dudes Iâve never met.
The second thing that happened was I got really ridiculous replies. Partially from my friends that wanted to fuck with me.

and from people who I had never interacted with. Then I had some other tweets and those got strange replies to. âLolâ âhahaâ. Replies that just did not add anything to the tweet. Whatâs the point of that?

I also got a couple DMs. No dick pics luckily, but I did get a scammer with a sob story and a godundme link. I imagine women are targeted more frequently for scams. Basically I learned that women put up with so much more crap than men do.
What I got was so mild, but Iâm also a fairly small account and thatâs just from one selfie. I canât imagine how much unwanted, and inappropriate attention people must get for showing any more than that, or posting regularly.
Mainly...we just have to do better. Women shouldnât have to be warriors to be here. They should be able to use this app and other social media without a constant barrage of harassment. You might think you arenât harassing someone by dropping a on their selfie.

But if you are a stranger, and you havenât taken the time to get to know someone, taken the time to interact with them, and in addition to that itâs just one of many,

Women of Twitter you are warriors and I have a new appreciation for how much garbage you have to wade through just to use this app.
