Seeing some discourse about gacha games today. Specifically about how they prey on people with low willpower. "Gacha games are designed to exploit weak people." That's bullshit.
Gacha games are designed to exploit *everyone*. They tap into some of the fundamental parts of how we interact with problems and finding solutions. Different people will be hit harder than others for sure but this isn't a weakness. The games exploit human nature.
Genshin Impact is an interesting game to study but you really shouldn't play it. Because chances are high this will work on you. It seems to be one of the most effective of them because the "gotcha" is so strong. Primarily because Genshin is a good game for the first 20 hours.
