It’s time for the BEA to share some truths about the remarkable challenges we’ve all been thrust into. First. Who is the BEA? Is it some outside entity? Nope. It’s us; the teachers hired and honored to teach in D220.
Second. Where we stand. 80% of our teachers responded when polled.
Third. We believe that we will push through this strongly when we come together as a community, support one another and keep each other safe.
Next, we are grateful to be connected to a community that was ahead of the challenges when the pandemic hit. We are grateful that our students and teachers have access to resources that so many in neighboring districts and states do not.
And. WE. ARE. PROUD. Our work this year, through all of the uncertainty, has been remarkable. We are connecting with our students in new and effective ways and preliminary data suggests students are learning.
Looking forward....is as unpredictable as the last nine months has been. The constants remain, however - our commitment to our students and our craft. We will reach and teach regardless of learning modality. Just like we always do.
