Fire Force Season 2 Episode 24 (#48)
We all know how great this episode was so I don’t feel the need to speak much on that; so let’s take a closer look at the contents and other elements of what made this episode one for the history books

It’s important to note this episode was directed and SB’d by Tatsuma Minamikawa. We were also lucky enough to get an ensemble of some of the best regulars we’ve seen on the show, from Kazuhiro Miwa, to Yuki Sato, Riki Matsuura, and Ryo Ohashi who played a hugely significant role
With a dream team like that it’s no wonder the episode turned out the way it did...
As for the actual episode/story, it was never confirmed but I feel like we got to see a glimpse of Benimaru’s Hysterical Strength and this was portrayed through the

Acala may be the representative figure of Beni’s Pressure of Death? Just a guess. Outside of that though, the soundtrack that played during this scene was perfect; upbeat, intense and perfectly fitting for a Hikeshi
can’t wait to hopefully hear it on the second OST!

I believe Mamoru Kurosawa also did some work this episode (with his iconic red flames) - the lighting here coming from the flames reflecting off of Shinra really stood out to me, really nice touch.
The Pressure of Death was easily the highlight of the episode. Ryo Ohashi was at the helm of this heavily VFX focused scene (as usual). The same person who worked on Beni and Joker’s Adolla Link. His work on Fire Force has been incredible and I’m just so thankful
I got chills from the visuals but also what played a huge part were the horns in the BGM, which sounded like a rendition of the Main Theme of Fire Force (OST). Not sure if it was but it at least reminded me of it. The sound design was just overall amazing this episode

The transition from the short flashback with Pan to Hagues’ death was spine-chilling. I love how it was just silent.
Asako also appeared at Hague’s funeral which was a nice touch because she wasn’t there in the manga. glad they added that in

We see that Kayoko was scarred from her operation on Shinra back in Season 1. I’m curious to know if she’s hiding some knowledge about the Adolla Burst, but it could also be an empty plot point. I think it’d be an interesting way to involve her in the story though
As for the ending scene, it felt right that Miwa was the one to work on it, seeing as he’s done an incredibly impressive run throughout both seasons... the Fire Force anime literally wouldn’t be the same without him, it’s quite crazy. I hope he can finally get some chill time lol
The END ending scene was NOT something I was expecting at alllll. But it was a smart move I think, I mean what better cliffhanger than the iconic Ohkubo moon? I know the scriptwriters were smiling ear to ear when they thought of that.
