Superbowl pass, a Benediction on us all. It is a sound I've come to know and love. It is equal parts moral outrage, common sense, and an uncommonly brilliant use of language. It graces my ears like the most perfect on the spot out of the blue impeccable and astonishing Miles
Davis solo. It humbles me and gladdens my heart. It shakes the rafters like the very best of what brings good people out to church on Sunday mornings. It is the sound of truth. As if we didn't know. As if we'd forgotten. As if equal parts of fear and ignorance had silenced
the land. As if it could bring me, who kneels to no-one, humbly to my knees. For a righteous reason. But of course I speak metaphorically...
