Morning folks, it’s Project Day already
Time to sort out some more jobs on the #Stang 👍
Filling the reservoir
This should be done, gaining access by unbolting & taking out the rear seat
But the previous owner has broken the hardboard boot floor🤦‍♂️ so as it’s all now exposed I’m doing it in the trunk Goodfellas style
That was really empty, which is a tad worrying 🤔
We have movement👍
I can hear a little pump cavitation at the ends of travel so I think there’s still a bit of air that needs to be worked out with a few operations
Need to keep an eye out for any leaks over the next few days
Next job is to make the car UK 🇬🇧 compliant, which means I need a rear fog light
Not wanting to bolt on a separate light, I’m opting to include it in the original rear cluster
This has 3 tail light bulbs each side, only 1 is single filament, so I’ve changed this for a twin holder
While I have a quick cuppa ☕️ in between routing the cable I thought I’d explain over 3 short videos why it’s important to use relays when adding electrical loads to your cars wiring👍
Using a relay in video 2 of 3 here in place of the cars switch to turn an accessory on or off, dramatically reduces the electrical current & sparking in the original switch
Video 3 the final wiring when using a basic accessory Relay
Always calculate the current draw (Amps)
Always use the right size Fuse
Always use the right size Cable
Check the Relay current size too 👍
#SafetyFirst
What a job getting the cable from front to rear was
New fused relay wired in with coil feed from the existing fog light switch in the car picking up the power feed from the front fog relay wired in parallel
I now have a rear fog light without any visible modifications to the #Stang 👍
Final job for today
The, the, the, that’s all folks for today’s fixes on Project #Mustang
