Metamask can release standalone version but that would have its own set of weakness as well.

The ideal solution here is to have a separate laptop (preferably a chromebook)
just for your metamask stuff. Don’t even have twitter open on it.

Do your Dapp stuff and power off the laptop.

One of Chrome OS’s strong point is that it does a “verified boot”

Each time you power on your chromebook it does all these steps automagically.
