Today, I spoke in the #PlanningDebate I secured about the proposed planning reforms and highlighted three key things the @LibDems and I are fighting for:

🏠 Protecting communities’ voices in the planning process

🌍 Decarbonising all of our housing
🌳 Conserving and supporting our local biodiversity against environmental damage

I am very proud of the work taken by @LibDems led local authorities across the country who are tackling the climate crisis by installing solar panels and retrofitting houses.

We simply cannot lose the input of our local elected representatives into decisions about what is built in their area. My #PlanningDebate was an opportunity for MPs from all parties to emphasise the problems these planning reforms might cause for their local areas.

The @LibDems and I will keep campaigning to make sure the climate crisis is not forgotten as the Conservatives push ahead with these half-baked, thoughtless plans to destroy our planning process. #PlanningDebate
