It should be noted, and XVIII does, this didn’t have to happen. MacArthur and Almond decided to have it happen, and it’s the source of much of my disdain for MacArthur, besides the whole Guam thing. 17 days of fighting I supplied, in the mountains, in weather inappropriate
gear. 17 days of surrounded by enemies, because MacArthur ignored warnings of Chinese involvement. The only reason we didn’t lose right here, was because Stalin didn’t send Sun the promised air support.
