Alright, cool #SoloAStarWarsStory stuff incoming:
Yesterday, I noticed another artifact in Dryden Vos's study—his desk!

In case you are unfamiliar, I have another thread on translating the Navigational Dataplaques

By enhancing the image, we can see that the stone base of Dryden's desk bears an inscription in Domabesh (a more ancient cousin of Aurebesh):

So let's see what we can read of it!
Oh... Well that's a little disappointing, it seems that we are missing the entire top-half of the inscription...

Now is probably a good time to see if we can find any other shots that might help us reconstruct the full text.

Sadly, this is the best we can do: A dark and out of focus shot...*

Looking outside the movie, the only photo of the finished prop that I can find is this one, which does give us a bit more visual information, though at a much smaller resolution.

Put it all together, and we get a final translation that is wholly intelligible:
OUR TEMPLE
HONOURING
SITH LORD
EXAR KUN

OUR TEMPLE
HONOURING
SITH LORD
EXAR KUN

What's more, this is one case where the official canonical story matches up perfectly with what the artist intended, and what actually appears on screen! (That doesn't always happen so neatly.)

written by set decorator Lee Sandales, from @PhilSzostak's The Art of Solo: A Star Wars Story describes:
"...The stone base, which Dryden has plundered from the Sith temple of Exar Kun, is made of polished obsidian and decorated with carved hieroglyphs representing spells 11/

that protected its former home."
Like I did, you may now be wondering, "Who/What is Exar Kun?"
According to Wookieepedia, an ancient Sith and former Jedi, first introduced in the Legends 1994 Jedi Academy trilogy by Kevin J. Anderson.

Anywho, if you have enjoyed this, and want to explore other Star Wars language translations, might I suggest the sacred Jedi texts?

Drat, this would have been a good shot of the desk to reference, from @pablohidalgo 's "Be-Han the Scenes" segment on The @StarWarsShow !
