I have many, thanks to @TSNBobMcKenzie letting his annoying kid tag along with him to a bunch of WJC. Here is a thread of non hockey related memories or stupid random things that I remember from each tournament I attended. https://twitter.com/dobberprospects/status/1339040971904884736
1991 SASKATOON: Getting put on national television at one of the games and deciding to take off my Team Canada hat and trying to eat it while the camera was on me.

1993 GAVLE SWEDEN: My poor mom carting me (7 years old) and my brother (4years old) all over town while my dad worked. She finally found a movie theatre that had english movies but once the movie started of course it was in Swedish
.

Also, the Christmas tradition of burning a giant straw reindeer in the Gavle town square was a sight to see.
1995 RED DEER: Being 9 years old and scared sh!tless to fly completely on my own to meet my dad at the tournament. Well worth it when I got to Red Deer and he was waiting with a brand new Team Canada jersey and hat.
Also, thought it was so cool to see Team Canada players at the airport after winning Gold and still wearing their red cowboy hats and medals on their way home.
1996 BOSTON: Driving in the parking lot at the rink & @GMillerTSN seeing the RDS crew standing outside their car with back turned & driving as fast as he could laying on the horn as he buzzed by them and probably almost giving them a heart attack.
That same night there may have also been a @GMillerTSN and @TSNBobMcKenzie road rage incident with a Coca Cola truck driver that 10 year old me got to learn some new words.
1997 GENEVA SWITZERLAND: My dad taking me to a crepe restaurant around the corner from our hotel every morning and letting me order any crepe I wanted for breakfast including the ice cream and chocolate dessert crepes...âJust donât tell your motherâ

1999 WINNIPEG: How cold it was. Sharing a taxi with an NHL GM and him telling me âIf I lived here all I would do is sit by the fire all day, drink hot chocolate and eat toast with peanut butterâ. I donât know why I found that so funny but I did.
2000 SKELLEFTEA SWEDEN: I have never seen so many publicly intoxicated people than I did on New Years Eve in Skelleftea. Was also first experience at Swedish fast food chain called âMax Burgerâ i think. First time seeing people eat their fast food burgers with a fork and knife.
2003 HALIFAX: was all set to go to tournament and make first trip to the east coast but woke up on Christmas day so sick that I had to stay home
.

2009 OTTAWA: Realizing my dream of playing in the WJC was done since every player in the tournament was now younger than me
.

What a great tournament. I was so lucky I got to see all this great hockey while also seeing different parts of the world. Experiences and memories you never forget.
