For yall who don't understand what has happened with Iowa State football in the past 5 years...

the season but that year we had to learn how to play hard. This was the beginning of building our culture.
Year 2: This was about learning how to play as a team. We weren't perfect, but we improved. That was a magical season. After some upsets we go to the Liberty Bowl and some

guys you will never remember the names of made some incredible plays to help bring home that trophy. A torch was lit.
Year 3: This year in my opinion was the toughest we had. We still had to learn how to finish games - not just the easy ones. We struggled early on but surged in

the middle. The K-State game from that year pretty much summarizes what I'm talking about. We were also able to go to the Alamo Bowl. Not many outside our walls could see the progress we made but the torch was burning a little hotter and was passed again.

it perfectly. "This year we learned what it means to have a champions heart." We had to do so by learning how to handle success. This team asked players, coaches, and staff both as individuals and a team to take a look inside at their best, and be better. We were close as players
and coaches to getting there. Much closer than many think. We went to the Camping World Bowl that year. The torch was brighter than it had ever been before.
Year 5: We started the season not knowing if it would even be completed. This team is able to handle adversity and grow

from it at an unprecendented rate. (Knowing our play calls helps me watch this happen) but you can literally see it happening mid game players and coaches both. Many of you won't believe me but I will say we have more potential to be tapped. Proud of this team this year, and
regardless of what happens tomorrow, they are doing something NEVER done at Iowa State before. To my boys good luck and go #Cyclones
