have you ever been upset that an adjunct lost their job?
lost their job at the last minute? lost their job after a decade in that position? lost their job because of a tweet? lost their job because they had bad evals? lost their job because one of your classes didn't fill and you needed theirs?
i'll just say this--stop demanding solidarity from precarious scholars when a secure scholar is struggling if you've never offered the same to precarious scholar who are ALWAYS STRUGGLING
adjuncts can't be your colleagues only when you need something from them, especially if what you need is their support for a secure scholar who is being forced to endure the indignity of . . . being treated like an adjunct (the horror!)
"what do you want me to do? i have no power over these things!"
that's literally what secure scholars say every time i bring this up, and sure, it's tough. you don't have power within the university. you know who has even less power?

this thread isn't inspired by abstract concerns. it's because hundreds of adjuncts and other NTT folks are losing their jobs all over the US every day and some of you are still coming at adjuncts demanding they take action and speak out on behalf of specific embattled TT folks.
if i may paraphrase myself: no one is owed their work.
