Cases growing at the rate of 0.26% while it was 0.44% when we were at 9M

Daily active cases in -ve territory & is at 3.1L

Daily tests averaged 10.6L past 7 days down from 9.3 when were are at 9M

Daily deaths ~358 while it used to be 500 level when we were at 9M cases

Growth of tests slightly above that of cases now

Daily TPR at 2.4%

only 7.32 (45.7%) of the 16 crores tests so far are RT-PCR

Most states do not report test results by type of tests

Numbers of tests & reported cases have been disproportional across states

E.g., Maharashtra has reported ~19% of all cases in India while did only 7% of tests

UP & Bihar together did 22.8% of all tests in India, yet reported only 8.2% of cases

The reported cases as a percentage of the total population are 1% to 2% range in most of south India

while a good part of central and north so far has only reported <0.5% as covid positive

A relatively low mortality rate of 1.45% at the national level

High variation across states

MH, GJ, PB & SK having the highest MR

Trends in mortality rates for both closed cases (recovered+deceased) and total cases

High variations in these rates are apparent in most states

Mortality rate increasing in many states: KL, DL, OD, HR, BR, AS, PB, JH, GJ, HP, Manipur, Arunachal, NG, MZ & Sikkim

Variations in mortality rates are even starker as we go down the district level.

Ahmedabad (4%) Ludhiana (3.9%) have the highest mortality rate while many other districts in the top 50 are at 3% or more

Trends in daily test per million per day and test positive rate across states

Daily avg. testing seem to have reduced in several states including Maharashtra, Odisha, Haryana, Gujarat, Tripura, Manipur, Chandigarh & Arunachal Pradesh

All states are showing a declining trend in daily new reported cases

Top 50 districts in India in terms of total cases

50.4% of cases & 57.9% of deaths now come from these districts

This share has been steadily dwindling

Some districts in Kerala including Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kollam, and Alapuzha are reporting new daily highs
