/ If you've ever heard that joke about how a fairy tale begins with white people ("Once upon a time") and with urban people ("Man, you ain't gonna believe dis sh!t"), Man, you ain't gonna believe dis sh!t, #RaiderNation : the Raiders still have a narrow path to the playoffs.
/ "WTF are you talkin' 'bout, Andrew?" Here goes the scenario. The Raiders must win both of their remaining games. A loss in either game sinks them. On Saturday, they'll host Miami at Allegiant Stadium. The Dolphins, Browns & Raiders are the only 3 teams that can get
/ the seventh & final AFC playoff spot. In addition to winning their last two games, the Raiders must depend on the Dolphins losing their week 17 game at Buffalo. That would create a tie with both teams having 9-7 records. But, because the first tiebreaker is head-to-head play,
/ the Raiders would hold that because of their week 16 win over the Dolphins. That's one way they can make the playoffs. There's an even-narrower path to the postseason for them: if the Cleveland Browns lose all three of their games and the Raiders win both of theirs, that would
/ create a tie at 9-7 and the Raiders would get in thanks to their 16-6 win in Cleveland in week eight. If both were to happen, that is Miami and Cleveland losing all of their remaining games while the Raiders won both of theirs, that would create a three-way tie for the sixth
/ spot & the Raiders would get it because they'd hold victories over both. Of course, the chances that any of the three scenarios play out are pretty small, but at least there's still a chance. The Browns have the Giants, Jets and Steelers on their schedule the rest of the way.
/ They play the Giants tonight but the Giants can still win the NFC (L)East division, which means they'll be motivated to win. The Steelers may still be in contention for the #1 seed in week 17, therefore, they're going to be motivated. Then there's the game against the Jets.
/ Right now, the Jets are leading the Rams 20-10 about halfway through the third quarter. Should they win today, that would take away the motivation to beat the Browns because they'll have won a game. If the Rams come back to win, then the Jets might be motivated enough to beat
/ the Browns. But, should the Raiders make it in, it'd be the perfect capper for this FUBAR year of 2020 LOL
