THREAD
i don't think gender criticals understand that you physically cannot be critical of gender without taking into account at least SOME radfem beliefs. being critical of gender roles, wanting female-only spaces, believing in the sisterhood? where do you think it comes from?-
-when you only accept the parts of radical feminism that personally benefit you- the you who most likely lives in a western country, as a straight gender conforming individual, it is hypocritical to bash the minors on here campaigning for the WHOLE of radical feminism-
you can bash and pretend like the women calling for a critical analysis of makeup, shaving etc are "dividing the community" as much as you like, but all they are doing is applying the same theory to a different aspect of gender.
gender critical feminism cannot exist without radical feminism. gender critical feminism is merely a small part of radical feminism that has been cut out from the whole and warped into something that refuses to critically analyse anything but trans people.
i used to say "Its fine to be just gc!!" but it's not. it is inherently selfish to demand that gender non conforming people learn that its okay to be their sex, while not analysing any of the standards (makeup, clothes, shaving, stereotypes, het) that ostracized them originally.
the vast majority of gender crits don't want to apply radical feminist criticisms to other aspects of their life because it would affect them too much.
now you might be thinking, where is the evidence thea? are you just spouting bullshit with nothing to back it up? no, i am not. the evidence is clear to see when you look at the contrast between posts of mine about trans topics and about other things affecting gender.
it is also clear to see in the way that the community responds to posts about makeup and shaving. just look at nev @vulvaluvr 's posts about these, which i will link here:
of course you don't have to believe in every aspect of an ideology! i'm only a radical leaning feminist myself. but picking and choosing the very minute details of radical feminism that you like while harassing women who apply it to other, more pressing issues is downright stupid
have a look at the comments under amy's post too: https://twitter.com/crimeofcupid/status/1338363103214329866
one reads: "Honestly, I would never call myself a rad fem. I have always thought of them as a separate group, whose intentions I could admire but because I didn't believe in everything, I couldn't be one. I wear makeup, I date guys. But I'm not asking them to change."
but radfems aren't a separate group. everything YOU apply to gender ideology can also be applied to other women's issues. what is the point in thinking critically if you only apply critical thinking to issues you pick and choose?
makeup is a billion dollar a year industry. female children are killed mining for mica. women are ostracized for not wearing it in the workplace and socially. girls pay thousands in plastic surgery to replicate these looks. if you consider that unimportant, why is trans ideology?
whether you like it or not, gender critical feminism is inherently western and flawed without radical feminism. and you know what radical feminism is meant to do? question your choices. make you uncomfortable. its radical for a reason.
