I aint gonna shut up and about Boy being one of the legendary debut titles of 4th generation KPOP: a comprehensive thread from a perspective
a lot of teumes as well as kpop fans don’t appreciate BOY that much saying its not as appealing as ILY and MMM... this is a my thought from me not being a fan but a music enthusiast. Disclaimer: im not an expert but I have a lot of experience in music. Here are my two cents:
all of the members’ vocal and rap strengths were greatly portrayed in BOY. This is how debut song should be. Being a 12-member group has its disadvantages but #Treasure managed to work it out through BOY.
-Treasure proved in BOY that their own color is an ADVENTURE, that they’re open to other concepts. It’s an intro of how their music journey will be in the future, in 1 song. I found ILY and MMM crumbs in BOY in my perspective. How cool is that right???
teumes find chorus drop unappealing. I DISAGREE. The drop used so much complex elements and the producers “played” with the notes but in a good way! Upscale then downscale then “I’LL BE YOUR BOY” then up then down again, its unconventional but it works
BOY was not monotonous. It went against existing music rules but the notes used worked and were in harmony despite being unconventional
Treasure’s vocals were PROPERLY INTRODUCED in BOY. You know who sings and raps
Every part of the song is HOOK-worthy from “넌 마치 beautiful danger” to “IM GONNA BE YOUR BOY” come on don’t deny it lmao
anyway that’s all. I just had to let this out in me since a lot of you don’t appreciate BOY like how I appreciate it :D this is just my opinion but I believe experts wont even take notice of this masterpiece if it wasn't good. teu-bye!!! @treasuremembers
++ i wish you could all get my point!! i tried my best to simplify this explanation for some of you to fully understand what i'm trying say. i wish these reasons are enough for you not to be lazy to stream BOY
