Thus, it is substantially easier to double down on the logical fallacies than it is to allow your entire ideology to collapse. The former is just one more brick in a rickety tower held up by ego. The latter is a painful collapse of everything you've ever believed.
I can provide a substantial number of examples, but one should suffice. There is no other avenue by which women who fought for decades to achieve sports equality would find themselves vigorously defending putting their records up against men competing as women. But they do.
"All people are equal" cannot co-exist with "trans women must be kept out of women's sports." However, if "all people are equal" is the thing you elect to drop, the entirety of leftism in America collapses and you are left standing over a void.
Therefore, trans women must be allowed to compete in women's sports, despite the laughable absurdity of it.
The example we saw over the summer was public health officials, after having insisted for two months that people stay away from each other, find a way to insist that it was OK to gather for the George Floyd Race Riots but not for any other reason.
In this case, it was much easier to stick another brick in the logical fallacy tower by saying "mass gatherings outdoors for the purpose of race riots is OK but not going to the beach" then it was to say "Police must put a stop to this."
The march of Leftism for the last 50 years has been to continually try to prop itself up with exponentially greater and greater lies. Rape culture, patriarchy, critical race theory.... all of it.

Consider why the idea of "logical consistency" -itself- has been attacked as racist white supremacy. If logical consistency does not exist, it becomes easier to take bricks out of the tower without the entire thing collapsing. But it does collapse, because living lies is hell.
When you understand that Leftists are always one well-aimed nuke at having their entire worldview collapse and the terror that would create in them, you understand why they hate the right in ways you can't even comprehend.
Lefty shitposters annoy righties. Righty shitposters are always one well-crafted meme away from sending a lefty into a week-long spiral.
