last night i did a quick reply to a film tweet, hardly noticing the original poster. it was @mattzollerseitz—one of the authors of The Sopranos Sessions—who retweeted my response. the book is a definitive text on the show, which i believe is one of the great american works of art
i've been enthralled with the show after a rewatch during quarantine. i believe it on par with a Dostoyevksy or Tolstoy masterpiece. @mattzollerseitz thanks for the nod of approval last night — if you happen to see this, i wanted to float an idea on The Sopranos (SPOILERS)
i haven't seen this discussed often—actually at all—though i need to read your book all the way through. but i believe that the 'death scene' (as you got DC to say) was a result of a subconscious death wish. a form of suicide.
there are many reasons for this, but i'll stop there. would love to hear any thoughts on the idea
@mattzollerseitz. (and of course happy to elaborate.) thank you!
