Y'all are bringing on a beef about Polytechnic and University to my TL and I need to tell you this as a Polytechnic Graduate. I hope I convince you with the differences below

1. The setup of Polytechnic is for technical education but today, it has gone beyond that...
That's why you can go there to study Accounting, wonder the technicality in Accounting that we were taught there.
2. Universities were setup as the Apex higher citadel of learning. And Polytechnics, the second and this reflects in the corporate salary scale. So, what's the beef about?
3. In good Universities, they run activities that sure can wow you. In Polytechnics, those activities are somewhat limited.

4. In Polytechnics, we did above 10 courses and some times, up to 15. In Universities, it is oftentimes lower than that!
5. In Universities, you see class. In most Polytechnics, you wonder if most students are villagers with their fashion sense. At least, in most Polytechnics I know of.
6. Talk of the orientation of both parties, which would you rate higher? As a Polytechnic Graduate, I will go for University.
7. Did it cross your mind that in some Polytechnics, you really don't do projects like you ought to(except you are in Sciences or Engineering)? In Unis, I know for a truth that you'll work your butt off to get a project done. This though, is relative based on the institution.
institution. But then, universities do projects better.
8. Do you want to compare Students Unionism? Universities have a sophisticated Political system.
9. You'll need a Post Graduate Diploma or a TopUp before you go for Masters as a Polytechnic Graduate. The only way you can go through such stress in the University is if you graduate with a Third Class or Pass.
10. For a truth, most of us that went to the Polytechnic are/were hindered by some factors such as not wanting to stay at home for another year. Inability to gain admission to the university (not because we don't pass the exams). Monetary implications. And lots more.
Know this, the only difference between both classes is the amount of personal knowledge we possess and the personal mentality of individual.

You can be a university student and be dull and of course, vice versa.
And I must interject that Polytechnic students go through a serious work scope that that stresses them on a grander scale. Tell me about studying for 10+ courses in a semester and still pass all or some of them? To me, that a lot of brain power put to use!
See en, success in life is not often tied to the institution you went to. There are Polytechnic Graduates doing exploits and there are universities graduates not doing well, and vice versa. Success is a personal pursuit and it doesn't matter whether you went to the Uni or Poly.
