The idea that you should lose interest in cosplay once you hit your 20's/30's is crazy to think about. Most people cannot afford to even cosplay till they're at this age. When you have expendable income to fully indulge in it. So don't let people think there's an age cap on this.
If people stopped caring about this at those ages, cosplay itself would not have grown into the mainstream life it has now. There are viable jobs in this hobby, you can make a living off various aspects that have roots in cosplay. Is it hard? Yeah but not impossible.
Every time I hear "You're getting too old for ____" is so annoying lol. Who do you think runs conventions? The vendors who sell you stuff? The corporations that have lasted decades surrounding this field? They are most certainly not a bunch of teenagers.
And even if you only see this as a fun-side hobby, there's no need to "grow out of it". Why grow out of something that you find fun and enjoyable? The notion that enjoying things like this makes you less of an adult/serious is preposterous. You do you, it's your life.
