Sieg Heil
/ˌsēɡ ˈhīl/

exclamation.
a victory salute used originally by nazis at political rallies.
after any sort of victory or advancement the nazis made on their conquest to exterminate people who did not fit their definition of the “perfect aryan race,” they would hold rallies and parades where they would relish in said victory.
as per tradition, the way this salute worked was somebody would say “heil hitler,” and the other person or party would respond with “seig heil.” this was also used during the hitler youth movement as a way to create a sense of community among the younger generation of nazis.
the victories celebrated were those of mass genocide. jewish children were thrown into pits of fire. jewish people were forced to work naked in the winter snow for hours and hours non stop, 24/7. food was scarce. piles and piles of dead bodies began to form.
some jews were tasked with burning the bodies of their fellow campmates in crematoriums. some bad to cremate their own children. their mothers. their sisters. their brothers. their fathers.
tw, graphic imagery.
there were execution squads that would line up jewish men women and children in front of pre-dug graves, strip them naked, and fire.
disease ran rabid in the camps. people died slowly from illnesses. people died slow and painful deaths from these illnesses such as typhus.
doctor mengele, nicknamed the angel of death, was responsible for conducting experiments on living, breathing, human beings. experiments included sewing people together while they were alive, doing brain surgery on people while they were fully awake with no anesthetics,
scooped out people’s eyeballs as a way to test blindness, ripped children from mother’s wombs and put them inside ovens, and much, much, much more.
we cannot talk about the horrors of the holocaust without mentioning the infamous gas chambers. jewish people were placed into two lines, a left line and a right line. a guard would randomly decide who went into which line and funnel jewish people in and out of the lines.
one line meant you would love to see another day. the other meant you would die naked surrounded by strangers or even family members in a gas chamber. nazis would often times separate families in these lines, sending a mother to her death and leave the rest of a family alive.
after the toxic gas killed those inside, they were put into crematoriums. like nothing. like they were worth nothing.
some prisoners would purposely run into the barbed wire that surrounded the camps to kill themselves before suffering another day. thousands of jews died by suicide. some would throw themselves into the fiery pits as means of ending their lives.
at the end of it all, 11 million people lost their lives, 6 million of that were jews.
“seig heil,” was a chant created to celebrate this victory. to celebrate their ability to wipe us nearly off the face of the earth. in the modern age, jewish people make up 60% of religious based hate crimes despite being less than 1% of the population.
“seig heil,” is not funny. it will never be funny. holocaust jokes are not edgy. they are not funny. they are not their for shock humor. my people didn’t die the way that they did to serve as an shock-humor styled joke with friends. it is not and never will be funny.
ask yourself this, @KarlJacobs_ , and anybody else who ever thought that any sort of holocaust joke is funny: why? why do you think it is funny? have you been desensitized to a genocide to the point where you no longer have empathy for people?
have you allowed yourself to become indoctrinated by neo nazi culture and fall down that rabbit hole to the point where you no longer see genocide as a serious matter that is off the table and should not be joked about under any circumstances? what is so funny about genocide?
and to those defending his actions tonight and have ever defended this behavior, ask yourself why. are you willing to prioritize people who contribute to the rising of anti semitism over jewish people suffering at the hands of neo nazism?
be a better ally. include jewish people in your activism. listen to jewish people. respect jewish culture. listen to us. be there for us.
as i type this thread i am tired. i am angry. i am frustrated and disappointed beyond measure with @KarlJacobs_ and everybody involved with his stream tonight. a big part of jewish culture and philosophy is fighting hatred with love. i will try my best to do that.
merry christmas to all my non jewish friends and followers. stay safe :)
