When I was 16 my family moved to Tanzania. I moved there first with my dad and we drove there from South Africa because my dad wanted to keep his Toyota Corolla. (But also we wanted to see places
)

It was a super dope trip plus my dad is my homie so we enjoyed
we also stopped at the historic Solomon Mahlangu college in Morogoro Tanzania established by the then exiled ANC.

Anyway fast forward we start getting settled in Dar es Salaam Tanzania. Iâm going out. Partying living my best life. (Iâm 16)

One day Iâm out at a bar and this dude comes to me heâs like hey Felicia! Iâm like who?
youâve got the wrong person

I go to the supermarket some guy is like âFelicia you didnât answer my textâ Iâm like thatâs not me
I go to the beach this guy is like âFelicia, long time.â At this point Iâm like âwhat is happening why do people keep calling me that?? â
He says âcome on Felicia. Stop playing around.â Iâm like âdawg Iâm not Felicia at allâ heâs like no way. Then you should meet her you look exactly the same. He gives me her number
Now iâve got Feliciaâs number, Iâm curious I wanna text her but Iâm also shy because 1. Iâm shy and 2. What am I gonna say???

When I finally plucked up the courage this is what I sent: âHey. My name is Maya. Everyone says I look like youâ Like? What else am I gonna say??

She responded immediately on some: âSo itâs you!!!
.â
Me:

Me:
Iâm like kasi whatâs on???
before I say anything she sends another msg: âpeople have been saying theyâre seeing me in places that I havenât been because of you.â âMy friends are saying i donât greet them nikwaona outâ

I tell her âpeople have been calling me Felicia everywhere I go apparently we look alike.â So we eventually maneuvered around teenage weirdness and agreed to link up at the beach near my place.
The day of this meeting we walking along the crowded beach trying to figure out how we gonna find her . All I know is at some point I looked up and saw a direct copy of myself.
I mean I think a lot of half black half white kids look alike. But this was crazy. She had also been brought there by her dad, a white Zimbawean broer. My dad is white South African. We were twinning twinning
We approached each other cautiously. I was looking at her face. Same height same everything. It was weird.
I honestly donât remember what we spoke about. But we ended up organizing a sleepover where we spoke about everything. Sheâs half white Zimbabwean and half Tswana. She was waaay more outgoing than me at the time. My dad was like hayi this chick is a bad influence
her to him:

Somehow I ended up becoming a presenter for East Africa Tv and we even met Chingy when he came to Tanzania. Remember Chingy??
(Please delete this picture ASAP!!!)

That night I lost my phone and my dad was like I need to stop hanging out with Felicia
but I carried on

We lost touch at some point. She was too much
but we were both too much

Years later I moved back South Africa and then she moved to South Africa too!!

Iâm expecting her to destroy my life again but she had taken a spiritual retreat to India same time I was retreating in Senegal and we were now super zen. We began to enjoy! She even appeared in Huku music video and joined our football club
