A thread on #marriages/ #weddings 1 of 3:
Was married for 18 years, knew him for 20 years.
Some lessons learned:
1)So many prepare for the big day but how many actually prepare for the life ahead?
2)You might discuss finances but do you discuss who handled money in your homes?
2 of 3
3)Work through individual issues through #therapy/ #counselling eg past relationships or parent issues.
4)Discuss if you want children / not, how many ?
5)Discuss conflict resolution:are you an avoider or tackler?
6)Be intentional about investing in your relationship.

7) discuss sex/pleasure/porn
8)Stay accountable, find couple you both admire you can be vulnerable with.
9)Discuss responsibilities around home: cooking, child rearing, in laws, cleaning, everything if possible.
10) know you are on same team
11)date night after kids too
The above should be included in Marriage 👰🏾👰💍💒🎶🎈💐🎂presentations: laugh together, love is a decision esp. over time, unity, commitment too.
