It isn't, but it absolutely fucking should be. As i keep having to repeat, and believe me i am very tired, YOU HAVE TO CARE ABOUT THE TRUTH EVEN WHEN IT IS INCONVENIENT TO YOU. https://twitter.com/purplechrain/status/1342658667347369984
I'm not a saint or a psychic, and i DO get fooled sometimes. But a lot of people on here trust me bc i do my fucking due diligence & i don't boost allegations i haven't checked out to the best of my ability. And i don't shy away from telling my friends if they're behaving badly.
And this is BASIC STUFF, folks:
- Don't repeat shit you haven't checked
- Contextualizing things is not "defending bigotry"
- You can't excuse terrible shit on the basis of someone having good politics

My continuing promise to my followers and my friends is that i will call things as i see them, i will only signal-boost allegations that i have at least minimally checked, and i will report my level of knowledge as accurately as i can.
And that I'll do that shit regardless of whether i like someone or not, or whether it's gonna piss someone off.
Richard Feynman (who was himself a sexist creep but also a generous and brilliant man, bc people are complicated) said this, which i take as fundamental moral law:
“The first principle is that you must not fool yourself — and you are the easiest person to fool.”
