Thread: Over the past 4 days, I have been called a blasphemer and heretic by numerous people that do not know me in the least. Yet, the peace of Christ has reigned in my heart, I have slept great, and enjoyed my family's extended Christmas celebration.
The Word of God is so true (Matt. 5:11-12) and our God is so gracious to His people (2 Cor. 12:9).
Be encouraged, saints. While some people will partner with the "accuser of the brethren" (Rev. 12:10), God is near to His people. He gives His beloved sleep (Ps. 127:2).
Yet not all people who raise questions are accusers, but rather, people who love the truth and Christ's church. Be patient with real people, clarify as needed, but ignore the trolls. The trolls are only in it for the clicks.
Those who have placed their trust in the finished work of Christ have so much to be grateful for, even in the midst of the close of a difficult year. The LORD is near to those who call upon Him (Ps. 145:18-21).
Entrust your vindication to the LORD (1 Pet. 2:23), for vengeance belongs to the LORD, He will repay everyone who falsely accuses His people (Rom. 12:19).
God's Word is also sufficient: "Reject a divisive man after a first and second admonition, knowing that such men are self-condemned" (Titus 3:10).
We will all stand before Christ one day, but not our critics (Rom. 14:10, 12). No one knows our intentions like the Son of God (Rev. 2:23). Every idle word will be accounted for (Matt. 12:36).
Aim to please Christ, not the crowds.
