It's MONDAY! Which means we're 7 days away from the #AMS101 Annual Meeting...kind of.
As you all know, it's fully virtual this year & that means things will run differently for presenters & participants alike.
Here's a THREAD on how it will work & what to expect...

Here's a THREAD on how it will work & what to expect...
What do we mean when we say #AMS101 begins next Monday (kind of)? That's the day that the conference platform will be open for all registrants. That means you can log in, update your profile, look over the agenda, and even start watching some recorded presentations!
The @AMSWRN Symposium is full of great content that you can start watching next week. These are 15 minute long recorded videos from our authors that you can watch at your leisure. The important thing is to watch these BEFORE the live portion of the annual meeting starts. #AMS101
Why the rush to watch these before the actual live meeting? Because each presenter will only be given 5 minutes a piece and they are using this time to answer YOUR questions. This means the assumption is YOU ALREADY SAW THE TALK and have questions for the author. #AMS101
If you don't do your "homework" beforehand, you're going to be STRUGGLING. Imagine trying to jump from talk to talk at a typical in-person meeting w/o going through the program beforehand. Now imagine having half the time, & navigating through the platform? Good luck! #AMS101
So here are some PROTIPS on how to do this successfully and get the most out of your virtual meeting experience...

#PROTIP 1: Register before next Monday (January 4th)
This ensures you the earliest access and most time to set up your social profile, check out talks, go through the program, and orient yourself with the platform. #AMS101

#PROTIP 2: Go through the conference program & start watching the talks next week.
Take notes. Jot down Qs you have for the authors. Reach out to them through the platform next week & get your Qs answered w/o competing to ask a Q during the 5 min live session. #AMS101

#PROTIP 3: Don't be afraid to ask questions about the meeting!
You're not the only one that has them. In fact, @ametsoc put together a FAQ page to answer many that have already been asked!

#PROTIP 4: If you're a presenter and want to know requirements, need template ideas, etc. There is a page for that too! There's even a YouTube video available that goes through anything and everything you need to know! #AMS101 https://annual.ametsoc.org/index.cfm/2021/your-annual/authors-and-presenters/101st-annual-meeting-speaker-information/
#PROTIP 5: Once the live sessions kick off the next week, and you've watched all your talks, make sure you know when and where to be to ask your questions. Attend a few sessions beforehand and see how they have gone to get an idea of how it works.
