Autism cannot be separated from the autistic. When you say you want to "cure" autism, you're saying you want a different person in our body.

Like being LGBTQ+, autistic children are portrayed as changelings that replaced the perfect neurotypical child and have consigned their family to a lifetime of social stigma by Autism Speaks.

Actually, AS goes further: having an autistic child is portrayed as one of the worst things that can happen to a family. Autism is demonized and is the cause of all the problems.

One of the critical areas Autism Speaks dedicates money to researching is trying to identify autistic people genetically. The goal being to enable legal termination of pregnancy of any fetuses that would become autistic children.

If successful, they'd go further than even nazi Hans Asperger did. Asperger only "euthanized" autistics that were unable to effectively mask their neurodivergence in the Holocaust. Those who were "severely autistic". Those that showed promise were granted permission to live.

The discussion of a particular label being imparted both saving and killing children is especially relevant to labeling Autism Speaks a hate group.

The only "evidence-based treatment" for autism is effectively indistinguishable from gay-conversion therapy. ABA, by design, violates at least two of the four fundamental principles of bioethics—and arguably all four. Guess which treatment AS supports?

At the end of the day, Autism Speaks harms the lives of autistic people, demonizes and grossly misrepresents us as people to be feared and defended against, and willfully and deliberately works to wipe us from the planet.

Their power and status as the preeminent autistic "charitable" organization funnels limited funds to things that make our lives worse, and seeks to remove us genetically from the human species.
