First we have his debut album “The College Dropout” with this album he showed the whole rap industry that you didn’t need to be from the streets and rap about drugs and girls in order to make good music and have a great selling album
Next we have “808’s & Heartbreak” almost everyone hated this album when it came out due to his use of auto tone, this album was made in 2009 when not that much people were using it and were not used to hearing it despite the fact Kanye made this album off of a failed 1/2
Engagement and the loss of his mother Dr. Donda West the media and music critics hated on him for this album but would later prove to be one of the most influential albums of all time 2/2
2010’s “My Beautiful Dark Twisted” Fantasy the “Album of the Decade” Kanye’s magnum opus this album was so important to Kanye in so many ways Kanye felt like he had to make a good enough album so that the media and the world in general would accept him back on good terms 1/4
Following the whole incident at the 2009 MTV VMA awards due to a bottle of Hennessy. This would be the first album that Kanye would actually sit down with a pen and paper and write lyrics down for, Kanye went full album mode with this and zoned in on making it perfect 2/4
Which in a lot of people’s eyes he definitely achieved from the single “POWER” which later on Kanye said he spent “5,000 man hours” making that song to “Runaway” where he literally invented a new piano note for the track and Kanye had some AMAZING features on that albums 3/4
My top 2 being Rick Ross on “Devil in A new Dress” and Pusha T on “Runaway” Kanye proved to the world he knew how to make perfect and by the time 2019 ended people were quick to label “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” “Album of the Decade” 4/4
“JESUS IS KING” yes I consider this one of his most groundbreaking albums now I know a lot of people still don’t like this album but this is one of my favorite Kanye albums I have cried to this album multiple times because of how beautiful it is which might have to do with 1/3
Me being raised in a religious household but Kanye really, in the words of Joe Rogan “he made going to church cool again” Kanye manages to put whatever he’s going through in his personal life into his music and figures out a way to make it AMAZING I truly do think that in 2/3
A couple years from now people will realize how good this album is and definitely rank it higher than they do know 3/3
YES I SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST
YEEZUS. Kanye was definitely soaking in ego when he made this album which might I add people hated when it first came out and one of the reasons that they hated it was because of his ego on songs like “I Am A God feat. God” where he says he’s 1/6

“A GOD” and not only did he show his ego through his music but he went on to show it even more on interviews around the time of its release including an amazing interview with Zane Lowe where Kanye says “I just told you who I thought I was a god” but not only did he have an 2/6
Ego he was also mad at the music industry where he raps on the song “New Slaves” “Fuck you and your corporation y’all ni**as can’t control me” Kanye felt like he was being controlled and they wouldn’t let him speak what he felt when he felt it 3/6
Kanye was also mad at the fashion industry because Kanye was trying to expand at the time in the fashion industry but he felt like he had no one to back him and give him the creative freedom he needed at the same time which he expressed on the Zane Lowe interview when talking 4/6
About how Nike was treating him despite making a shoe so cool and so wanted that it has been sold for resale for up to 50,000 USD. And despite all the hate surrounding Kanye and his album Yeezus just a couple years later people would finally have the album “click” for them 5/6
And most people started realizing how great the album was to the point where some people including me consider it easily to be his best album OF ALL TIME 6/6
End of thread :) I know I could’ve written a lot more about every single one of his albums but these are personally my favorite ones. Thank you if you read all the way through that means a lot to me
