Sis don’t forget that “your desire and longing will be for your husband, And he will rule [with authority] over you and be responsible for you” in Genesis 3:16 was a curse upon Eve.
Meaning it is unusual and not Gods intent for a woman’s desire to be wrapped up in her husband. His intent was that she be a helpmeet which is very different. That curse was about what happens in the the absence of God.
Before the fall of man, woman’s desire was wrapped up in her God — she had relationship with the Lord. The curse limited her from having relationship with God and left her with man to rule over her.
This means that a part of coming to Christ for a woman is to be reunited to the Lord and for our affections to be placed back on the Only perfect love that could ever be.
If I learned nothing else from Bridgeton, I learned that culture and man do not make for good idols.

I’m so glad that God actually loves, respect and value women. The curse of Eve is not my portion.
