1/8) I know no good can come from questioning Kingdom Hearts Logic, but I don’t want to carry this into 2021. A THREAD.
Okay, SO. In Kingdom Hearts 1, when SDG visit Atlantica, Donald’s magic transforms them into Aquatic creatures (including Goofy’a Sea-Turtle-Dog abomination).

2/8) in those forms they can understand and communicate with both Ariel & the creatures in King Triton’s court.
Then, in Kingdom Hearts 2, when SDG visit the Pride Lands, D transforms them into animals there too. Even Pete transforms to blend in. Goofy is an abomination.

3/8) Once again, in these forms they can communicate with Simba, Scar, Timon and Pumba etc.
Now it gets murky.
So, they visit China and they visit France, and whilst they’re there they don’t change form. But they clearly are able to communicate with Mulan and co/ Beast and Co.

4/8) This is operating on the assumption that in Mulan everyone speaks Chinese and in Beauty and the Beast everyone speaks French, and we the audience are able to understand them for convenience. I must note here that if you AREN’T operating on this assumption, I judge thee.
5/8) Where am I going with this, you ask? Right, so in the first game, they go to Deep Jungle, and meet Tarzan and co. The only English humans they meet are Jane and Clayton. So WHY do they not change. Or at the least, why doesn’t the magic translate for them now?
6/8) and, while I’m there, we the audience ARE allowed to understand when Tarzan speaks to the gorillas, but then famously we can’t understand “*&&X%!” I can make an allowance for that specifically, because for storytelling reasons Sora hopes *&&X%! pertains to his friends.
7/8) so basically my question is, WHY didn’t they become Gorillas when they went to Deep Jungle? When they were sea creatures they could still understand humans. They could’ve spoken to the Gorillas, Tarzan AND Jane. Plus it was Kerchak who helped them find the keyhole anyway!
8/8) I don’t normally tweet stuff like this so expansively, so if you read this far you’re a nerd, ha. Also thanks.
Also, let me say that aside from the platforming, Deep Jungle is one of my favorite worlds of the franchise. The story and music are great!

If @MrElliottJack had been here this would’ve been a rant to him, but he’s flown the nest and I’ve drunk port, so here we are.
