The problem with the west is that it is antithetical to the Christian faith, it lays on the foundation of the truth in the unnatural way a predator might lie on their prey. Indeed, while we are all ‘Christian’ we are really secular westerners.
The western order is a structure that we have been born and raised in, but if we wish to create a more Christian society we must reject it. We must reject it’s worthless politics, promises and pleasures and suffer in order to restore the Christian myth.
Now, I know what you’re probably saying.
"What the fuck Andrew"
I understand, it sounds crazy and even scandalous. But if you give me the time I’ll do my best to explain the vocabulary, concepts and what I really mean.

Firstly, a "myth" isn’t here meant to symbolize a set of folk tales. Rather, I’m here using it as Sorrel explains it in his 'meditations on violence’
Sorrel uses the word myth to mean a worldview, ideology and religion might be myths but it is larger than either of these.

It isn’t just a set of ideas or customs, but rather all encompassing. A man eats, sleeps and lives a myth. His whole world is made sense in its light.
To put it simply: American liberalism isn’t a myth. But the American republicanism is.
In this way there are many myths, to name a few: communism, Naziism, Liberal Democracy, Islam, Confuscianism and Hinduism are all, in their own right, myths.

It should also be noted that while a myth can die, it will live on in some form. For example, Iran was founded upon Zoroastrianism and Persian monarchy. Those systems were replaced by Muslim conquest, but the remnants of the old myth remains in the language and traditions of Iran
This then gets to the myth of Christianity.
Christianity created a particular worldview among Christians. While it’s hard to flesh it out in this thread, in involved the study and worship of beauty and truth, while also valuing virtue, order and honor.

The myth was alive throughout the Middle Ages, and created a unique political and cultural system in Europe and beyond usually called "christendom"
In a similar manner, further explanation of this concept deserves a full book, I won’t go to deep here.

Ultimately, Christendom was built upon the belief in the principles of Christianity and created a fusion of church, state and economics into one system that, in theory, was the most godly a society could be.
This didn’t always work out in practice...

...however, it created a system in Europe that brought the continent much growth and beauty in some of the most turbulent periods of history.
It should also be noted that Christianity is not unique in this regard, systems like Islam (Dar-al Islam) and Liberal Democracy (NATO/UN) have also created unique political systems. (Though results may vary)
However, in the 15/1600s, Christendom found itself in combat with and eventually lost to a new myth. The myth had its foundations in the Protestant revolution, which began an erosion of the Christian myth.
Martin Luther questioned the church, destroying its authority and eventually leading to the murderous revolutions fair the 18th and 19th century. This was also met with the growth of capitalism and the enlightenment, which pissed on the social, cultural and economic...
...foundations of the Christian myth. This new system, wishing to make itself legitimate, claimed to be the triumph of the European people’s against the ignorance of the past. It utilized philosophy and science to try to create an alternative to Christianity.
This is what we would consider "western civilization", the liberal system. It’s focus has been to destroy the old Christian myth and replace it with a system that can offer complete freedom and encourage focus on technological development.
A complete analysis of this system would also take a whole book, but to summarize; it has lead to an oligarchic rule by a decentralized group of elites who exploit and abuse the lower classes. This system has created nihilism, degeneracy and countless evils in society.
That doesn’t mean that the west isn’t Christian, in the same way that a remnant of Zoroastrianism remains is Iran, so to does a remnant of the old system remain in the west.
But if one wishes to find the authentic Christianity, he won’t find it here.

Like the Jews, we have rejected the savior and now pay the price daily.
But Christ loves us, and he wants us to come home. This is why I say we must rediscover the Christian myth; we must return to Christendom. For our own souls and for our society!

This is a large task. We are the population GK Chesterton tells of in his story of the lamp. We are left trying to figure out how to relight the lamp without any light.
But nevertheless, this is our calling. We must take up the cross, and reject the western world and all it’s evils and endless mechanations. Rather we must return to God and make it our goal to reestablish christendom.
