Everytime someone in the EU shares their salaries as a programmer someone always compares it to US salaries.

Please stop. It's not even the same system

It assumed we
1:all wanna move there
2: all can move there

I don't wanna make 250k while most people work three jobs
I wanna give back, im okay with that

My mom had cancer on minimum wage back in Portugal and we didn't pay a fucking cent

Some of us don't want that much capitalism.
I would have peace of mind over money any day
From my perspective there are a couple of things to understand

I am the child of working class parents
My father is disabled and my mom had the mentioned medical issues.
My first laptop was 150€ because I was low income and it was a portuguese initiative to give kids laptops
I wouldn't be where I am today if I didn't live in a more socialist society.

I literally wouldn't be a programmer because I could not afford a laptop or university
I wanna be super clear that is not an attack on the US or anyone that lives there

it's just two different ways of seeing things that's why many europeans move to the US and americans move here

My main point is that salaries are not comparable
