before distracted by #COVID19 i wanted to write a real 2020 top albums list after seeing those stupid statistic posts that don't say anything about the music. not as detailed as intended, but it's clear:

My 2020 Dozen +1 Albums of the Year
[in no particular order]
Lowrider - Refractions
Swedish stoner metal veterans come back after many years with a heartfelt nostalgia look-back in celestial riffage.
Charley Crockett - Welcome to Hard Times
A take back to classic country days and storytelling, demanding as the heavy horse of 2020.
Busta Rhymes - Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God
This sequel to the 1999 classic feels right because 2020 needed Busta yelling at it.
Wajatta, John Tejada & Reggie Watts - Don’t Let Get You Down
You can’t help but feel some sort of pleasant connection and grooving peace throughout this listen.
Lucifer - Lucifer III
It’s more @LuciferTheBand. hail rock and roll.
Reflections - Willow
The pent up anger and frustration of 2020 comes to good use in this airing of grievances with symphonic cannons.
Tallah - Matriphagy
Young Portnoy drums raging through a heavier take on Korn and Slipknot styling with scenes of dealing with abuse. @tallah__
Idles - Ultra Mono
Social and political protest in the form of drunk british beatnik-esque yelling that demands a punk pit.
Serpent Column - Endless Detainment
This is for when you want to hear batshit insane earthquakes and explosions tearing through rocky mountains.
Myrkur - Folkesange
Taking the intensity from her previous black metal background and using it in modern takes on traditional scandinavian folk tunes.
Fiona Apple - Fetch the Bolt Cutters
This sounds like if the everyday were hanging in a musical Smithsonian, like if a master painter’s brushstrokes wrote and animated a season of Seinfeld.
Bully - SUGAREGG
A brilliant genuine feel of the 90s grunge sound we loved growing up, including the angst, frustration, and inevitable moments of despair…
Run the Jewels - RTJ4
the truth. look at these slaves masters posing on your dollar.
HONORABLE MENTION
Yota - Hazy Paradise
when needing something to move you this is literally the vibe. it is a fucken vibe. and i do not say that ironically this time.
HONORABLE MENTION
Doc Hammer - Neon Devil
yes, this came out at the end of 2019, but i didn’t hear it until 2020 when the band reached out to me, and it became an instant banger theme album. if you want to rage, rage to this.
