Ok fuck it, inspired by bean dad:

While there is a LOT we don’t know about education, we DO know he most effective way for one individual to teach another individual a task.

Step 1: explain the task
Step 2: Demonstrate the task
Step 3: Have them attempt the task
(You stay quiet during step 3, except to offer encouragement if they get frustrated.)

Step 4: Give feedback
Step 5: Repeat steps 3-4 until they’ve got it
We also know that people do not learn as effectively when they are tired, hungry, frustrated, or otherwise distracted.

In short, everything bean dad did was wrong.
That said, it might be consistent with abuse if part of a larger pattern, but in isolation it’s merely dickish and ill-advised. Bad parenting, yes, but not grounds to investigate for abuse.
