I hope some eloquent Dems in congress are carefully preparing to rebut the allegations of voter fraud, etc., that Josh Hawley et al will trot out on Wednesday. There will be a big audience for this; it's a chance to significantly influence public opinion on stop-the-steal claims.
And it's not enough to say "You got nowhere in the courts!" Hawley et al will reply that most court cases were dismissed without a ruling on the merits of the claims. But there were exceptions--e.g. in Wisconsin--and it's important to be well versed in those.
BTW I don't see Wednesday as immediately impacting public opinion much. I see it as an opportunity to educate anti-Trump elites on what the actual counter-arguments are. Too many of them repeat 'no evidence of widespread fraud' w/o understanding what the claims are to begin with.
I also see this as the beginning of a very long public education campaign. How public opinion finally settles on stop-the-steal will have a big impact on 2022 and 2024 elections. The goal is to make GOP extremists regret their extremism then.
Too many Dem elites spend zero time in the Trump media ecosystem and so don't understand why stop-the-steal claims have rhetorical power in the first place. That's why this whole thing snuck up on them. They need to do more homework and less social media preening.
