So...here's a story about my experience with @vrbo and why their "book with confidence" guarantee is an outright sham, not to be trusted.

I booked a condo 2 months ago. I left early, as it was dirty. Straws/cups from prior guests. Pubic hair. Food waste. (Pics)
I contact the property owner, who agrees to refund me for the unused days. This person then goes silent.

I contact @vrbo who tells me the issues in these photos are not covered by the guarantee and that I'll only get a refund from the owner. Not their problem.
The property owner is still not responding to me or VRBO and @vrbo will neither back the reservation nor give me the direct contact info for the owner. In other words, the only way I'll see my money - several hundred dollars - is if the owner decides to resume responding.
Long story short - @Expedia, owner of @vrbo, is just there to collect fees and not actually provide the service the fees allegedly fund.
