Ok. Couple of thoughts. Control the controllables right?
I’m not in charge. I’m not at DfE. I’m not my SLT (who btw are awesome). I’m not at the LA. I’m not a member of a union (Edapt though). All of which I’m totally happy about.

Well ..
I can ...
-follow the tier rules where I live & work.
- make sure my family do too.
- follow our risk assessments at school.
- do my best to make sure all the small people in my class follow our rules as well.
- reduce f2f contact with people outside my school.

- wash my school clothes as soon as I get in.
- stay 2m away from folks.
- wear a mask.
- wash my hands.
- support my friends and colleagues to control their controllables.
Basically, just keep putting one foot in front of the other until we get through this horrible mess.

It’s not that I don’t have an opinion on the massive mess this government has made, or worry about the apparent disregard those in charge of the country have for the advice provided to them by SAGE and others.
It’s just that I can’t actually do anything to change any of that.

I’m trying hard not to bite at the newspapers, and trying my best to remember that a newspaper’s job is to sell newspapers, not necessarily to tell us all the truth.
Same with celebrity opinions btw.
I’m also trying really hard not to panic about the fact my CEV husband will

return to Sussex (Tier 4) tomorrow afternoon and we won’t see him again until the R rate reduces, so I’ll be single parenting 3 of my own small people again. Except this time we’ll all be back at school.
So. What was I saying? We, all 5 of us, will get through this.

We’ll focus on getting through one day at a time, controlling the things we can control, and managing the tsunamis when they come.
Stay safe everyone, whatever you’re doing tomorrow. I for one cannot wait until our biggest issue is about whether it’ll be wet play or not.
