lrt is so good... i don't consider myself an amazing writer, but not in a disparaging way, just because i do know what my own flaws are and what i need to work on as a writer to get where i want to be
but the lesson of "different doesn't mean inferior" is so, so important

i absolutely ADORE people who have colorful, descriptive styles that can evoke powerful imagery of setting and movement. it's something that doesn't gel with my general style, since i tend to focus my writing on internal monologue, feelings and dialogue
so i admire other styles because they ARE so different than mine, and i think that's great? it's something that took me a long time to really understand, too. how your writing is focused is very much so an intrinsic part of yourself and what you want to convey
so for me, the focus tends to be on the characters and how they think and feel, how that plays into the world around them, and how the world/culture/etc influences them in turn. those are my favorite parts of fiction, so it's what my writing gravitates towards
but that doesn't make it inferior to someone who writes evocative prose, or uses a lot of allegories. they're different styles with their own merits—if anything, you can learn from other people's styles to build upon your own and use that to improve on what you feel you lack!!
