When the following fouls were given away in the pics below, they were on the flank which the RB and RW occupy.
In all of these situations, Steven Bergwijn wasn’t playing RW.
These all were needless fouls that came from 1 v 1 situations

Lo Celso failing to help cover Aurier vs Leicester, Lucas failing to track back and help Toby vs Everton, and Bale failing to make a real effort to track back vs West Ham allowed these fouls to come about

Bergwijn didn’t start that game.
I know Stevie hasn’t really been the best in terms of attacking production this season but its easy to see that he plays an important role because of his workrate, willingness to help defensively, and ability to cover well.

Despite his struggles in the final third, what he does helps this team click imo.
And hes capable of being an attacking threat imo, just needs to regain confidence.
He’s a really important player rn, even if the stats and numbers don’t show it.
