It's totally an acceptable opinion if some people want Lampard out. Not everyone has supported the club before the money came in and it's totally okay to expect more quickly.
But I have a few questions. Would like to see your answers to them. [ thread ]...
But I have a few questions. Would like to see your answers to them. [ thread ]...
1. We are used to sacking managers and still winning trophies. But do you really think that can happen again without the spine of Cech JT Lamps and Drog who carried us through every sacking and kept the team together? After them it was Hazard dragging us. Right now we have no 1.
2. We sack Lampard, a new manager comes in. Do you think he will not ask for more time and more players ? It will become an endless cycle and we will become like Manchester United i.e. a never ending transition period, since 7.5 years now.
3. I back Lampard not because I think he is the best possible instant option. I'm sure there are better experienced managers for the short term. I back him because I don't think that hiring and firing managers will work anymore...
With FFP and a lack of core in the team, there's no guarantee a new manager will instantly deliver. Might as well stick with someone who has a long term plan, and has signed young players accordingly, and loves the club to bits..
4. If you see the last 6 matches, defeats to Arsenal, City, Wolves and Everton can happen to any top club across the season, they are not shocking results, Liverpool drawing to West Brom and Fulham is way more shocking, the problem is these results are consecutive, that's it.
That's what makes it a bad phase. But the 16 match run before that proves the manager has had good days as well and can turn it around.
5. Two months ago Manchester United were struggling, we made fun of Ole but their fans weren't asking for a sack or abusing him, look at them after a few consecutive wins. (Ole has spent more than Lampard in total btw).
Same with Arteta, people said they're closer to relegation, their fans never lost hope, just 3 wins later everything turned around. It's all about a bad phase or a good phase. These 3 teams cannot yet compete with Klopp and Pep who took 4-5 years to build their perfect squads..
6. Lampard needs to take the blame for his team selection for sure, but can you blame him for the lack of energy and pathetic misplaced passes ? Kante and Kovacic were shockingly poor today. We effectively played without a midfield.
